Your Taxes are killing animals too!

2008 December 15

It’s no wonder that F& W and USDA have allowed the shooting of 50 Acorn Woodpeckers. at Rossmoor. They would be such a small fraction of the animals slaughtered at their hands every year. In 2007, the toll came to 2.4 million animals. These are your tax dollars at work! Here’s a breakdown from WildEarth Guardians of how they ‘manage’ so callled pest animals and have been for years

USDA-WS is also involved in large round ups and killing of  Canada Geese all over the country.  Just as in Acorn Woodpeckers  the killing solution  only exacerbates the problem.

Trapping, shooting, or removing individual birds is a shortsighted “solution” to any perceived problem. As long as the areas of concern remain attractive and accessible to these birds, more will move in from surrounding areas to fill the newly vacant niche, resulting in a perpetual, vicious roundup-and-kill cycle.

In the larger scheme of things we have other governmental wildlife issues to  consider. President Bush is making a last ditch effort to destroy the Endangered Species Act as we know it. Read below:

Kill-kill-kill — it’s always man’s easy way out when animals are “inconvenient.”

That this philosophy is causiong an ecological wreckage is of no concern to him.
